1. When using polyacrylamide, prepare an aqueous solution with a concentration of 0.1-0.3%;
It is best to use neutral water free of salts and impurities.
If the on-site dissolution equipment is small, a slightly higher concentration (<0.6%) can be prepared, and then diluted again before use.
2. When dissolving polyacrylamide, add it slowly and evenly to the water phase with stirring;
The stirring speed should not be too strong (the linear velocity of the stirring blade end should be controlled below 8 meters/second) to avoid reducing the shear force of polyacrylamide; adding too quickly will also cause clumping and form "fish eyes".
3. The water temperature should not exceed 40℃; room temperature is sufficient;
4. The prepared polyacrylamide solution should not be stored for too long; cationic PAM should not be stored for more than one day, and anionic PAM should not be stored for more than two days to avoid degradation;
5. The PAM solution should not come into contact with iron ions, as iron ions are catalysts that can accelerate the decomposition of polyacrylamide;
6. When pumping the solution, it is recommended to use a diaphragm or screw pump (because high-speed centrifugal pump blades can easily degrade polyacrylamide);
7. Polyacrylamide aqueous solution should be prepared and used immediately. When the solution is left for a long time, the performance of polyacrylamide will gradually decrease depending on the water quality.
